BODY ART – THE NEW JEWELLERY?

SELFRIDGES EXCLUSIVELY LAUNCHES CHANEL TATTOOS AS BODY ART BECOMES THE NEW EMERGING TREND

Selfridges, home to the largest beauty hall in the world, will be exclusively launching Chanel transfer tattoos, tapping in to the new emerging trend for body art. The tattoos, depicting flowers, beads and bangles with Chanel’s signature logo, were first seen at the Chanel Spring / Summer 2010 catwalk show and will be launched in the Selfridges stores in March.

Tipped as the next big trend in fashion and beauty, body art was seen adorning models on the Spring 2010 runways of the Jean Paul Gautier, Rodarte and Chanel shows, securing it as a must-have for the coming season.

Currently seen on celebrities such as Rhianna, Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz and Charlize Theron, body art transfers are the less painful and les permanent options for embellishing the body.

Set to follow in the footsteps of the Chanel Jade nail polish which caused a frenzy in the UK with waiting lists of hundreds desperate to get their hands on the £19 pistachio shade and even being offered on ebay for a minimum bid of £100, the Chanel tattoos will definitely be next in demand as the new statement jewellery.

David Walker-Smith, Director of Beauty at Selfridges says; “The Chanel transfer tattoos are destined to be on every beauty queen’s lust list. With body art set to be a big trend for 2010 we predict a wait-list frenzy in much the same way as Chanel’s Jade nail polish”

Wait-list orders for the Chanel transfers can be taken at Selfridges on 0800 123 400.

Les Trompe L'Oeil de Chanel - The set of 55 individual Chanel Tattoos - will be available exclusively from Selfridges from 1st March, 2010
