Peacocks continues to ride the recession, with 17 per cent LFL sales growth
and announces further designer collaboration with Pearl Lowe to be modelled
by Daisy Lowe
Peacocks, the UK’s hottest value fashion retailer is this season’s
top shop on the high street, with 17 per cent like for like sales growth
in December and early January, and announces a further design collaboration
with Pearl Lowe, which will be modeled by her daughter and style leader,
Daisy Lowe.
Designer Pearl Lowe will design four seasonal collections for Peacocks, the first of which will be for spring 2010 and launch in selected Peacocks’ stores mid-May. Pearl’s daughter, supermodel Daisy Lowe, will act as model for her mum’s collections.
This season, Peacocks is investing in spring’s dominant tribal, floral and nautical trends. Buying over one million blue and white stripe tee shirts £8 and sailor stripe jersey dresses £12 as the appeal of blue and white stripes is not set to wane.
Hem lines aren’t the only element to come down this season, Peacocks has invested in over 50,000 pairs of this season’s new mid-heel, inspired by designers including Stella McCartney, predicting its tan wooden ‘cone heel’ £16, to be spring’s fashion footwear hit.
Peacocks’
spring/summer 2010 collection
Tim Bettley, Managing Director of Peacocks said: “This Christmas our
customers have really splashed out on picking up their party essentials
at our stores. This saw a 17 per cent LFL sales growth in December and early
January with our best sellers being sequin dresses and statement heels.
2010 will see our stores continuing to focus on offering the latest fashion
at great value and will see more from our designer collaboration with Pearl
Lowe. We believe that this season the trends on the catwalk will translate
perfectly to our high street stores and together with Pearl’s collection
we look forward to offering customers a real alternative to expensive designer
buys.”
