Peacocks celebrates 30 per cent increase in sales of Chanel inspired accessories ahead of ‘Coco Before Chanel’ release

Peacocks, the UK’s leading value retailer is celebrating a 30 per cent increase in sales of Chanel inspired fashion ahead of ‘Coco Before Chanel’.

In the past two weeks sales of Chanel inspired quilted chain bags (£10) have increased by 30 per cent, selling in excess of 100,000 since hitting the shop floor earlier this season. Most popular styles include tweed, sequin and Union Jack in pink, black, red and gold. Chanel inspired pumps (£10) are also proving immensely popular with customers looking to get the designer look at prices up to fifty per cent less than other high street retailers.

Following on from the bag’s success, Peacocks launched a Chanel inspired wellie – the Cha-wellie £15 – embossed with Chanel’s trademark quilting, popular with customers looking to get the designer look at this summer’s festivals.

As the recession sinks further, Brits seek solace in affordable pick-me-ups that won’t impact on their weekly budget as sales of designer inspired accessories continue to increase, defying the credit crunch.
