SELFRIDGES’ LAUNCHES MADE TO ORDER HAVAIANAS

Havaianas ‘made to order’ service at Selfridges, Oxford Street

Selfridges, currently celebrating its 100th birthday, is bringing a touch of South American ‘não sei quat’ to London with the launch of the UK’s first Havaianas pop up shop.

Located in the footwear department of Selfridges’ Oxford Street store, the concession will offer flip flop fans the chance to customize their own pair of Havaianas, choosing from over 100 different colours and straps, Swarovski crystals and even diamonds. Prices start from £20 per pair.

Billed as Brazil’s most famous export (Giselle Bunchan aside), Havaianas have fast gained cult status since their launch in 1962, helped by a celebrity following including Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and Beyonce.

Sebastian Manes, Selfridges Director of Accessories said: “Whether you’re destined for the St Tropez or Southport, we hope this service will encourage customers to wear their Havaianas for a variety of summer soirees, and not just reserve them for the beach only.”
