B&Q LAUNCHES £5 MILLION EASTER PRICE INVESTMENT

B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement and garden centre retailer, announces that it will discount 1,000s of products from tomorrow (9 April 2009) to help customers beat the effects of the credit crunch this Easter.

Prices will be dropped by 15 per cent on key categories and it will save shoppers over £5 million over the next fortnight. The discounts are across the store and available in all 331 B&Q stores and online at www.diy.com.

It means customers will be able to pick-up DIY and garden products at super-low prices and save hundreds of pounds on kitchens and bathrooms.

This time of year is key for DIY retailers, it’s their Christmas and B&Q DIY hungry shoppers will be able to take advantage of deep price cuts. B&Q last week launched an aggressive price campaign that promises to beat any price, any day of the week, even when rival retailers are offering discounts.

This year has already seen the Spring sunshine drive unprecedented levels of spend in the garden as Britons have been turning to GIY (Green-It-Yourself) as well as DIY. Recent weeks have seen sales of greenhouses up over 150 per cent and grow your own seed sales up 127 per cent. This weekend, shoppers will be able to take full advantage of the seasonal sales.
