It's official - the eighties are back!
Peacocks, the UK's leading value retailer is celebrating the return of 80's
fashion as batwing tops and wet look leggings top the retailer's best sellers
at its stores nationwide.
The era that bore the male ponytail, Luke Skywalker inspired jump suit and
neon smilies has landed once more, as sales of batwing tops, oversized tee
shirts and hareem pants become Peacocks' most sought after fashion items.
Recessionistas are flocking to Peacocks' stores to stock up on the latest
Banarama-esque fashion at value prices - selling in excess of 45,000 leggings
and batwing jersey tops in January 2009.
In celebration of this remarkable era, Peacocks is bracing itself for a
flock of customers (over seagulls) following this week's launch of its eighties
inspired £16 jersey hareem jump suit.
Antonella Bettley, Peacocks Ladieswear Buying Controller said: "The
eighties was one of our most memorable eras in terms of fashion, a reflection
of the strengh of the economy through statement dressing and bold colours.
Our hareem jump suit is fantastic value at £16, offering customers
on a budget this season's key look at great value."
