Leading betting operator Ladbrokes today announces that it has signed up TV presenter, DJ and model Vogue Williams as its official Ladbrokes ambassador for the upcoming racing season.

Vogue, a keen horse racing fan, also approached Ladbrokes about her desire to compete in a charity horse race, and a thrilling and challenging campaign is being planned that will see Vogue transform herself into a jockey, guided by leading trainer, Jim Boyle, who trains in Epsom, the home of The Derby.  The charity race that she is hoping to take part in will be confirmed in the near future.

To ensure she is race-ready Vogue will undertake five months of intensive training, under the expert tutelage of Jim Boyle at his training facilities at South Hatch in Epsom where the racehorses in his care have the use of high quality turf and all-weather gallops, next door to Epsom Racecourse, as well as their own private equine spa.

Her genuine passion for horses and for horse racing made Vogue an obvious choice to become a Ladbrokes ambassador. Ladbrokes will be working with her on promotional activity throughout the year including personal appearances and social media campaigns at the major racing festivals throughout the year.

Vogue Williams says of the partnership: “I love horse racing and grew up riding in Ireland. I’m thrilled to be working with Ladbrokes and really excited to be working with them to help promote the biggest events in this year’s racing calendar both in the UK and my beloved Ireland.  The chance to become a jockey is a big undertaking and for a lifelong race fan, a dream come true. I’m really grateful to Jim Boyle for his support. I’m looking forward to helping to raise funds for the charity associated with the race, but on top of that I am also really determined to win.”

Jim Boyle says: “We are looking forward to working with Vogue and helping her to prepare herself physically and mentally for the challenge of riding in a horse race. Riding a racehorse in any race is extremely demanding and nobody should underestimate the magnitude of the task she is undertaking but with hard work and commitment we will make sure she is fully prepared.”

Nicola McGeady, Ladbrokes’ Head of PR, says: “We’re delighted to have Vogue Williams on the team. With her passion and enthusiasm for horse racing, she is the perfect fit for our brand. With the next few months seeing some of the biggest races in the calendar coming up, we’ll be able to promote our activity at Cheltenham, the Grand National and Royal Ascot to a brand new audience.”
