Racegoers at Aintree were stunned today when they saw Meghan Markle celebrating her hen party with The Queen and The Duchess of Cambridge at the Grand National Festival.

The bride-to-be and her future grandmother and sister-in-law were spotted at the home of the Grand National enjoying the Ladbrokes hospitality, placing bets and sipping champagne. It was unclear whether any of the Royal party were in the money.

The spoof photoshoot was organised by Ladbrokes, the bookmakers, ahead of the Grand National which takes place on Saturday (14th April).

According to the bookmaker up to £150 million will be wagered in Britain on what is the biggest betting race in the world. The bookies has also seen a sharp increase in Royal betting ahead of this year’s Royal Wedding and baby number three for the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William – with tens of thousands of bets placed.

A Ladbrokes spokeswoman says: “It’s great to see Meghan embracing British culture by hosting her Hen Party at the world’s most famous race. The Grand National stops the nation and we reckon Meghan could be having a flutter on ‘Regal Encore.’
