JD Williams talks about ‘Midsters’
For some women, ‘middle age’ is a dull middle ground between young and old, but for JD Williams it’s all about being a ‘Midster’ and celebrating the vibrant stage of life which is exciting and full of new possibilities.
As part of our activity to celebrate these women, the fashion team created The Midster Report 2017 – a YouGov report which looked into women over 45’s attitudes towards style, body confidence, shopping behaviours and key lifestyle moments such as dating and relationships, life adventures and their work-life balance.
Who would have thought that one in five women aged 45 and over say sex is better now than when they were younger? Or that a third see themselves as the main breadwinner in their household? Or 16% have been on more life adventures since they hit 45?
The report was launched at a breakfast trends seminar at Soho House, which was attended by press and influencers. Guests enjoyed a light breakfast before taking their seats in the comfy theatre room for the main debate and a preview of the new JD Williams AW17 TV ad.
The trends seminar was hosted by the fabulous Lisa Snowdon, who sat with a panel of experts and discussed the Midster report findings and shared their opinions on the results amongst the crowd which caused great conversation! On the panel was Angela Spindler (CEO of N Brown Plc), Carla Buzasi (Global Chief Content Officer, WGSN), Kate Hardcastle (‘Customer Whisperer’, founder of Insight With Passion, Businesswoman & Philanthropist) and George Lee (Co-Founder of Age of No Retirement) – a group of very inspiring women who has lots of interesting views and opinions to share!
