From Garment Hangers to Face Shields: Mainetti Joins The Fight Against COVID-19

As the government faces increasing criticism for the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers, many businesses have stepped in and started producing these in-demand items.

One example of these is our client Mainetti, the global retail solutions provider who is well-known for its manufacturing of garment hangers and a wide range of packaging solutions. Mainetti has completely re-engineered its business and will now be manufacturing protective face shields on an industrial scale for frontline medical and care services. This will take place at its Scottish plant in Jedburgh and Mainetti is donating 1,000 of the face shields to the plants local hospital – Borders General Hospital in Melrose, Scotland.

To share this news, we issued a press release to highlight this initiative – focussing on news outlets and journalists who were covering the PPE shortage, as well as manufacturing/trade press. This resulted in the story landing on PA, as well as Scottish national news sites – the Scotsman and the Scotland Herald online – and a number of manufacturing titles including PackagingNews.co.uk and SustainablePlastics.com.

It’s great to see Mainetti joining the fight against Coronavirus and the business is continuing to look for ways it can support during the crisis.
