Deck the Halls for Easter
-Spring wreath sales soar at Hobbycraft-
While traditionally a firm fixture at Christmas, wreaths have been given a Spring makeover as Hobbycraft reveals sales are up 50% compared to last year. With customers looking to ‘deck the halls’ ahead of Spring and Easter, Hobbycraft has seen a notable rise in sales of both its ready-made and make-your-own wreaths.
Those looking to create something themselves have been snapping up wreath bases including Rattan and Metal Wreaths Bases, which has seen a 50% increase respectively. Sales of faux florals have also soared by an incredible 80% as customers look to adorn their homemade wreaths with fake spring blooms such as tulip and gerbera stems.
And, it’s not just wreaths soaring in popularity, as more customers than ever are adopting the trend for decorating the home for Easter. The retailer has seen an increased interest in longer lasting, more eco conscious lines, such as Ceramic Bunnies. Sales of the decorative White Trees have also seen a 70% spike in sales, which has in turn resulted in a 30% increase in sales for Hanging Wooden Decorations, which further indicates that more people are celebrating occasions with themed decorations outside of just Christmas.
Katherine Paterson, Customer Director at Hobbycraft, comments: “In recent years we have seen the humble wreath grow in popularity, and we’ve seen more and more of our customers using them throughout the year, both inside and outside the home, to signify the different seasons. We’ve also seen an increased desire from our customers to decorate their homes for the seasons, and they no longer just decorate for Christmas. They’ll add touches of season inspired colour and personalised decorations to make occasions such as Easter, and it’s great to see their creativity being shared with us across our social media channels”.
To help customers get creative and be inspired to make their own spring wreath, Hobbycraft has an abundance of ideas and step by step makes on their website.
